Game Design Document (GDD) Template
A downloadable project
Game Design Documents are an important part of the game development process. A lot of people don't know how to write one, how to organize it, or where to even begin.
Here's a template (Microsoft Word) for you to easily create and organize a GDD for your next project. It includes organized areas for you to write the game overview, storyline, gameplay mechanics, aesthetics, schedules, and more.
I'm providing this as a free template but if you can donate a little I would really appreciate it because of the hours that went into creating it. Let me know if it helps in your game development process!

Very useful! One thing, there is a typo on page 3, and Word says the comma here doesn't belong. As it is a template, it doesn't really matter, but thought I'd point it out.
Thank you for sharing this!
Thanks a lot from Argentina! It was extremely useful.
I'm using it in the process of developing my first game
I linked your page from my newly created blog, it could be a way to say thank you and to get more people interested in your GDD Template.
But if there is a inconvenient, i will remove it ASAP.
Thanks again! Keep doin' great stuff! :D
I'm glad you like the template! Thanks for sharing a link on your blog. I appreciate any exposure to it.
Well done, extremely usefull, massive thanks.
This is really great. I'm definitely going to use this in planning my future games. Thanks for putting it together!
This is pure gold!
Oh, I found a fix for my problem! Since I use Windows 10 I searched for Default Programs in the task bar and manually chose what file types are opened by what programs. :)
I would love to use this template but, while I understand it requires Microsoft Word to open, I do not own Microsoft Word, or any other Microsoft Office products. I use LibreOffice for my work, so I am unable to open the files. :c
It's opens perfectly on Libre Office Version: 188.8.131.52
Maybe check you settings :)
